roxour is proud to present fresh music from r-04, a very talented mid 20 boy from downtown tokyo. for r 04 things started about 10 years ago when testing out his first syntheziser. from japanese fascination of composing and living game music soon he was fascinated by the magic of detroit techno. aside from that, he plays on the grand piano with that jazzy - and funkyness of an early stevie wonder. r-04s music is reflecting the city where he comes from. he says many tall inorganic buildings and night scene always inspire me. his first official release gazing at the moon is somewhere between jazz and techno. its a kind of tribute to the so called chu shu no meigetsu convention, the autumn time in japan, when no one can ignore the beauty of the big shiny full moon. also i composed this track meaning that we had better keep emotional leeway to enjoy the full moon no matter how busy we are. patrick alavis ace remix is turning the jazz and detroit techno rooted original into a deep roller.

top ten of techno dj legend dave clarke and ben sims !! michael walgram, born and still living in steyr, started his dj career at the age of nineteen. that time he was deejaying at small private parties, heating up the vibes with commercial beats. the artist mike turrento was born. however, he soon started to alter his style and went from commercial music to fine, chilly, yet pumping and pounding tribal techno. he is especially known for enriching his sounds with numerous sound effects using different equipment. the hype of minimal techno did not alter his individual style, yet he tried to combine minimal and classic techno with breakbeats. through adding skillbreaks, speedbreaks, scratches and spins he managed to find the perfect mixture and created outstanding classic breakbeat techno sets.

one year after his first ep on cargo edition, kostas tassopouls aka ekkohaus delivers to the label another incredibly strong release. the native-born greek, now living in berlin, has developed into an skilled producer who rides the line between techno and house. the combination of reduced, hypnotic and impulsive arrangements with a subtle deepness are typical of ekkohaus� sound, demonstrated perfectly in the two tracks of this ep. �unsound� is characterized by his smooth, almost elegant rhythm. a repetitive meandering vocal sample weaves through the track, sounding familiar yet haunting at the same time. the track is already played by many key dj�s and is definitely to be heard more often within the next months to come. �moon talking� focuses on a more standard vocal which gives the track some pop-appeal. at the same time the introverted male vocal introduces a very catching harmony which will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the dancefloor. with this ep, ekkohaus cements himself as one of the modern-house talents.

venezuelan producer argenis brito graces us with his sophomore cadenza release, the imminent ep. renowned for his role as lead vocalist for senor coconut as well as his collaborative projects with artists as decorated as luciano, pier bucci, jay haze and samim, the multi-talented argenis solo work comes with some pedigree. resident in berlin since 2004, his distinctly latin interpretation of house is a step ahead of the game, with prior releases on junion and cadenza animating floors with that inimitable south american fervour. title track >imminent< is a playful affair,with bouncing bass and a shimmering synth melody dancing around the kick. intoxicating and funked up, the melodies call and respond in a fragmented conversation while pulsing echoed tones add depth to the mix. >mind body soul< stutters into a complex percussive pattern, coloured by warm keys and blocks of bass tone. funky is the word, as a distorted vocal directs bodies to the floor. deep and immersive, dark melodic synth movements plunge us into a sweaty and cathartic house hole. on the flip, >lolipop< combines electro and house elements into one cheeky dance with the devil. bubbling bass flows under cascading melodic synth, as fat percussion crunches around sharp vocal bursts. slick and futuristic, this is for that time of the night where looking backwards is not an option.closing the ep, >unreality< is as deep as they come. warm and uncompromising key stabs pulsate over a no-nonsense bass drive, accented by harmonising clav tones. living up to its moniker, the resonant melodies and hypnotic pace conspire to transcendental effect.
